Fishing

Home Valley is dissected by three of the most untapped natural resources in the Kimberley: the Pentecost, Durack and Salmond Rivers.

Home Valley Station along with its two Out Stations known as Durack River Station and Karunjie Station are renowned by locals as the best spots in the East Kimberley to reel in the elusive Barramundi. Though the other species generally receive less attention, our clients smile just as widely when they're reeling in Threadfin Salmon, Mullaway, Saw Fish, Mako Shark, and Mangrove Jack.

Enthusiasts can throw a line in at one of our many 'secret spots' with the help of our knowlegeable Fishing Guides.

The keen and courageous, or more serious fishermen, can join our experienced boat fishing guides for a tour aboard a HV8 fishing trawler. Our custom made boats are spacious, canopied, flat bottom vessels with ample horse-power able to navigate the enormous tidal waters between Home Valley, the Durack and Wyndham.

Due to tides of up to eight metres, the knowledge and experience of our guides is invaluable in the virtually unchartered waters of the Durack and Pentecost, and their time spent in pursuit of fish in these waters will be made apparent aboard one of our half or full day tours!

Tours include everything but sunglasses and hats, and those opting for a full day's fishing will be treated to the Chef's picnic hamper.
